For as long as we have been knitting (50 and 30 years, respectively) both Mom and I have wanted to own a yarn shop. Sadly, while we had a blast doing so, with the rising gas prices and reluctance of people to part with money, we realize that right here, right now, well… it’s not our time.

The Irish Ewe yarn shop in Norway Maine will be closing at the end of August.

Starting August 1st, all our stock will be 30% off. On the 10th, we will go to 40% off anything left. Should we have anything left, the next Monday everything will be 50% off, and finally, 60% off the last week of August. And we do mean everything - yarn, patterns, needles, wheels, fiber, fixtures, racks, bookcases, furniture, even the rugs.

We will continue to sell our (Irish Aran)yarn online, but we will not be shipping sale items unless you contact us ahead of time (BJ, AnDy, Jen, Sarah, give me a call or email a list) In an effort to avoid having to pay the fees, please help us out by bringing cash or check. We will be able to accept credit cards for just a few more weeks.

Most of all, Mom and I want to thank all our family, friends, and customers - the past 5 years have been a wonderful dream! Please come and celebrate by grabbing some great bargains (bribes of wine and chocolate are always welcomed!) Do know that while this chapter of our lives is closing, we are moving on towards an exciting future, and we will, naturally, be toting our double points as we go :)
